We’re proud of the design and build quality of our Welfare Vans (also known as Mess Vans). We utilise Ford Transit, Peugeot Boxer and Vauxhall Movano vehicles as our panel van bases. Our Van Conversion specialists then convert them in to our popular Welfare Units.
Welfare Van
The specification of our Welfare Van conversions is high, we’re aware that there can be individual needs that require further vehicle modification work.
We’re finding that bespoke conversions of our Welfare Vans are becoming more popular, particularly with the Emergency Services.
Emergency Services – Welfare Vans
Why are Emergency Services taking Welfare Units to incidents?
Incidents attended to by our Fire, Police, Ambulance and other emergency services can occur in hard-to-reach areas, in poor conditions and over extensive periods of time.
It’s been recognised, across the UKs Emergency Services through their own operational debriefs that dedicated vehicles to provide respite to frontline staff at incidents are required.
Extra Value of Welfare Vans
To compliment the frontline use and maximise the investment in these vehicles we’re finding that our Welfare Van conversions are also being utilised in a recreational capacity. Supporting members of the services and their families at organised events.
Van World – Welfare Van Conversion
Van World, the Van Conversion specialist branch of CVM World were recently approached by Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service. Like other operators in the Emergency Services sector, they have recognised the value of investing in Welfare Vehicles and elected to work with Van World to deliver a Welfare Van conversion to their bespoke needs.
Emergency Services – Support Vehicle
As a front-line support vehicle, the Welfare Van needed to support fire fighters of all genders. A number of designs were explored in order to provide safe and secure access to the Welfare Vans toilet facilities.
Working with Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service we opted for an effective yet simple solution. This included external illumination lights to notify when the toilet area of the Welfare Van is occupied. Helping to mitigate the risk of intrusion.
Secure Welfare Toilet
As a further safety precaution, a system of securing the Welfare Vans rear door was devised. Compliments the illumination system and deterring additional entry when the Welfare Vans toilet is in use.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service
Having recently taken ownership of two of our Welfare Vans, HWFR have already agreed to invest in a third.
